Amazing Art Day (Tuscany Day 3)

The very best thing in Italy comes from shops like this! The gelato was superb, and we should know because we sampled a LOT of it.

On Wednesday morning we went to the Uffizi Gallery. It’s a history of Renaissance art without peer. The Botticellis alone made it worthwhile to see.

Afterward we had drinks on the terrace overlooking the Piazza della Signoria.

While Pauline went walking over the Ponte Vecchio . . .

I visited the Palazzo Vecchio, still Florence’s City Hall. The decoration is extraordinary, especially the ceilings.

That night we went round the corner from our hotel to the Odeon cinema to see the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie in English (unusual in Italy, where almost every film is shown in dubbed form) but in 2D.
